  THOUGHTS ON UPGRADING TO (Free) WINDOWS 10

  i've been using windows 7 for several years and have had no complaints.. i've tried many browsers and settled on google chrome.

  it has absolutely everything i want or need.. i kept hearing about the free upgrade to windows 10, so i went to youtube and watched endless "reviews" pro and con.. what pushed me over the (microsoft edge) was the fact i could test drive the new operating system.

  for 30 days and go back to windows 7 if i didn't like it!

  At home I have almost exclusively used Linux for the last 15 years (on a dual boot system).

  After upgrading the hardly used Windows 7 to 10, never went back to Linux again.

  absolutely amazing how fast this technology is advancing.

  at the darpa challenge last year the robots could hardly walk up right and it took them ten minutes to walk through an open door frame.

  now they're running around outside and opening doors like a pack of velociraptors!

  Btw kudos to your politie and calm demeanor.

  You behaviour is unlike many other (so-called) Christians and/or Jehovah's Witnesses responding to people challenging the validity of their beliefs.

  It doesn't mean you're right ;-) but it's a commendation to your humanity :-)

  Imagine a person making money selling cherries.
  

  He has a basket full of cherries. Half of them healthy, half of them poisonous.

  He picks out the healthy cherries and eats them. He tells you about how healthy these cherries are, and how the guy who grows the cherries is such a nice guy.

  Then he wants to force you to buy and eat the whole basket including the poisonous cherries. "Because the guy who grows the cherries is such a loving and kind guy."

  So, no cherry picking of any kind please.

  Results of shunning in my case:

  • I hardly know my brother and his 'wordly' family as I have shunned my brother since he was 18. I think I saw him 5 times in 20 years.
  • I have shunned my sister for about 10 years. My niece and nephew hardly know who who their uncle is.
  • My mother shunned both of them as well, and missed large part of the early years of 3 grandchildren.

  Now, since about September I found out JW are not the truth (and I am confident to say neither are Christadelphians or any other religion)

  • My brother-in-law and his wife have decided to shun me, without even first talking to me about what I decided and why.
  • Most of the friends I thought I had, part of the most loving people on earth, serving the God of love (JW), never talked to me again when they heard (not from me) I quit. How lovely and loving.
  • Friends that do still talk to me and think I'm either insane of fooled by the devil.
  • On the bright side, I started to reconnect with my brother and sister and some friends whom I shunned...

  
  

  Religious mandated shunning is evil.

  Any religion that practises shunning and makes people 'kill' their own family, blame it on the victims, and then call that 'loving' is a cult.

  Bets on when the UN prophecy will be dropped?

  now that i'm free to bet, i figured it would be neat to start a pool on when the watchtower is going to change light bulbs on the prophecy about the united nations turning on worldwide religion.

  there is no doubt in my mind that this prediction will be dropped.

  not only is this the longest-running unchanged prediction in the wt's history (1925 and 1975 had much shorter gestations) it's the last detailed concrete prediction the society has left in its bag of tricks.

  just a few observations from this morning.

  .. this morning as i was trying to choke back the bile that kept wanting to come up during the wt study one comment in particular screamed cult.. towards the very end as comments were being made about "counseling" others with "gracious" words one of the uber-dub minstral-serpents made this comment, "we see in the last image that the brother is holding a bible as he counsels the other brother.

  we look closely at the picture and we can know exactly what he is counseling the brother about.

  How Christian of those taking issue with your personal grooming not to speak to you first.

  Or were the elders just lying?

  One could check it out by politely asking 'which one of my brothers has something against me, so I can make it right with him?'

  I have doubts... can you help me??- A new idea

  i have been perplexed as to how to brung my wife out of jws and to exit the religion... but i had an idea last night.

  i know that elders will legitimantly meet with brothers who have doubts and encourage them... not df them .. this is a sheperding call etc.. thus since my wife knows i have doubt s i could say: i want to have two brother over to discuss this ... she will agree.... of course i will hit these guys with biblical textual issues, an biology to where they are stunned and still ask... "so brothers... can you solve this conflict...?".

  in this case they will not think of me as an apostate but may question their own beliefs... .
